New to Esports?
Gun Raiders is a great place to start.
While not every competitive event requires you to be on a team, joining a team, whether socially or competitively can greatly improve your experience in the game.
Outside of regular gameplay there are many teams in Gun Raiders. Some teams are for competition only. Some teams have a social aspect. Some are both. As an example teams like Hellkats, The Third Eye or Saboteur Monkeys each have a group of friends that play together as well as competitive squads they send to tournaments. Other teams are more closed off to competitive players only. How to join a team? Most teams in Gun Raiders as any Esports operate with Discord servers. The Gun Raiders general server can be found here: https://discord.com/invite/kvfMKw3GGb
How does competition work?
As most competitive events in Gun Raiders are hosted by HellKat VR Gaming and Lifestyle, a great place to start is by joining that Discord server:
Upcoming competitive events will almost always be posted on either the Gun Raiders Discord Server, the HellKat Discord Server, or this site.
If you see a competition you want to take part in, follow the instructions in the announcement.
Most times, the announcement will include the date and time of the competition, the game mode, and whether a team is required. It is imperative that you clear your schedule for that time block if you choose to sign up.
On or before the day of the competition, the person or organization hosting the event will release the fine details. How you are to join games, which teams you are against, and whether there are any gameplay particulars that are not allowed (most often this involves cosmetics that arent permitted, or occasionally a weapon that isn't permitte). The host will also give instructions as to where to find results for each round. Whether the even is hosted on discord, or elsewhere, it is imperative that you make yourself available to follow the news of the tournament as it unfolds.
Also, always start a tournament with your headset fully charged.
- Pay attention to instructions
- Start with a fully charged headset
- Be in conteact with your team or partner beforehand
- Read the rules
- Book of the appropriate amount of time
- Ask questions if you don't understand
- Be friendly to the tournament staff. Most often they are volunteers.
- Always remember sportsmanship. The Primary objective is to have fun.
